I will add to these details as more is revealed, but please note I will only detail official information so we can be sure of its accuracy – as well as a few logical guesses until we know more.

Yamaha Genos Keyboard
It is fair to assume at the moment that the Yamaha Genos will be released sometime in October / November 2017 in the UK due to the timing of all the marketing and teaser information. More information to follow…
Yamaha Genos Price
The Yamaha Genos keyboard is available in a single 76 key SKU this time around, rather than splitting between two sizes as the Tyros 5 did before it.
Although no official RRP has been revealed as of yet, Yamaha dealers are pricing the keyboard between £4200 and £4400 depending on the configuration. The keyboard is available on its own, or as a bundle with matching speakers and stand.
Yamaha Genos Accessories
The new Yamaha Genos Speakers (GNS01) are available separately, priced around £299 (GBP).

No doubt this is to differentiate the keyboard enough to show that this is a bigger leap forward (especially to look at) than a simple Tyros update. Early images have already shown how the keyboard features far more dials than on previous keyboards. The touchscreen is also a big departure from previous Tyros models.
Yamaha Genos Backwards Compatibility with Tyros Series
Now THAT’S an interesting question – and I have a very good answer: Genos is compatible with Tyros! To be a bit more specific, Registration Memories, Multi Pads, Songs from Tyros2 or newer… they’ll all load in and work with Genos! I think it’s odd that there are so many new styles that belong to youth music on the new Yamaha Genos. The statue shows that people are over 60 years old who buy this type of keyboard
I am sure the Genos has styles from various genres of music, to cater for any age range. It is very important to attract younger generations too for Yamaha to stay in business, especially with these flagship keyboards. I am sure, when all of the demos are released, you’ll see a huge selection of musical styles to cater for all tastes.
I look forward to hearing everything about this keyboard, I hope it contains many of the earlier styles from the tyros series, and that the previous styles can be used on the Genos edition.
The new Genos is reverse compatible with ALL previous Yamaha styles, so if you’ve saved any earlier styles from Tyros 1,2,3, 4, 5 etc to flash drive etc, do not worry they will all work. :)
I’m 71 years old and have had a Tyros 4 & 5 from new and self taught myself keyboards since then. I must say that Yamaha have provided the inspiration for me to progress musically and thus creatively via those keyboards with their fantastic styles & sounds. I have just watched with enthusiasm the 17 videos on Youtube for the new Yamaha Genos and thoroughly liked what I’ve heard. I know my musical tastes are more in the older range, however I do enjoy remixing them with new effects etc. I envisage similar pleasure should I purchase the new Genos. I’m unsure whether links to Youtube function in our posts, but just in case here is the link to those said mentioned 17 videos. I am so looking forward to the Yamaha Genos, although my wait for financial reasons has to be considerably longer than most. 2021 to be exact, so price should have come down by then at least I should think. As I compose my own music, this keyboard is going to be invalualble to me. At present I have been working with a now rather primitive Yamaha PSR2000 – yea, I know, don’t all laugh at once. Maybe having no Tyros to compare this too is a good thing in a way, as I shall be coming to it fresh, with nothing but my ancient keyboard to compare it too, and let’s face it, next to my old girl, this is going to blow my mind!! 2021 seems like a long way off, but when somethings this good, the wait will be such sweet agony! :)
