This podcast was actually recorded in July of last year, but originally I was trying to present an edited version with some of the actual music tracks used in the background as we spoke. After many attempts to get this authorised by SEGA, it just wasn’t possible for legal reasons, so here is the podcast without the music.
Joining me are two newcomers to my podcasts. First of all John Boyle who at the time was from Cubed3.com who confessed he has a massive crush on SEGA consoles and games and also taking part is Jam from girl gaming group Frag Dolls UK.

The lack of coverage Shenmue gets is a crime and its slowly starting to disappear as more newcomers to gaming come in and simply have not heard of it and because it was on the Dreamcast, which in many people’s eyes failed, they will brush it aside. You can spend £40 on a new 360 game or wii game, but for that same price you could pick up a dreamcast and shenmue and I guarantee it will offer an astounding gaming experience compared to alot of titles today. I wonder what would happen if the game was on ps2, if it got more coverage then it would no doubt be just as widely known as halo, gta, DOA etc.
Egads, it FINALLY goes live! Weirdly I just picked up Sonic Secret RIngs, Shenmue 2 and am getting Virtua Tennis 3 this week. Sega still rule my life :x
The SEGA Dreamcast was one of the best consoles devised for its time and probably would have put the PS2 to shame if SEGA had just been a little more sensible with marketing the system. I guess it didn’t help that Sony was so highly regarded at the time and users believed in the PS2 emotion engine fraud.
p.s. Everyone should play Rez and Soul Calibre once in their lives :D
