Swarm Review for Xbox 360 – Fast, Furious and Frilling… erm Thrilling
Ever wanted to take a collection (or swarm) of small blue creatures under your wing and guide them through a bunch of nightmarish challenges? Well now you can with Swarm available on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 respectively.
Your first inclinations may be to compare Swarm to Lemmings and to a certain extent there are some similarities, however they are slight. Just like Lemmings, the destiny of these poor and quite frankly dumb creatures depends completely on your skills to navigate the horrors that await – the difference though is that rather than ordering one Lemming at a time, you are in fact commanding the entire swarm in one go. “With great power comes great responsibility” and if Spider-Man played Swarm, he would hang up his super hero costume in the wardrobe and sit down in front of an Xbox 360 for the rest of his life.

Lemmings Game Music Live Performance on the Yamaha Tyros3 Keyboard by James Woodcock
Nearly a year ago, I played the Simon the Sorcerer theme on the Yamaha Tyros3 keyboard. Recently I taught myself another piece of gaming music nostalgia, this time from the classic puzzle game Lemmings. Using a bank of registration memory settings that I created, a Premium Style accompaniment, multipads, a range of voices and even a couple of Lemmings sound clips that I trigger with a foot pedal. I really hope you enjoy my latest performance.

Can You Believe It? I Now Own the Sony PlayStation 3 Console
Yes I know, I can hardly believe it myself! I suppose with HD DVD going the way of the Dodo, many gamers like myself will be considering the same options. Should I get a possible Blu-ray add on drive for the Xbox 360 or should I just purchase a PlayStation 3 console and have the best of both next generation worlds.
Many will know that I have not been overly enthused with desires for the PlayStation 3. It has certainly had a rocky start to its life, but at least a sign of better times is well on the way. Price drops, a few must have gaming titles and Blu-ray playback have all factored in my decision to bite the bullet and give in to the dark side… Sony.
