Simon the Sorcerer Enhanced Soundtrack Updated – Version 2.1 with Track Fix

Today I have updated my Simon the Sorcerer enhanced soundtrack for use within ScummVM. The second song (track02.ogg) had a single note that was out of place, which has now been fixed in this latest release.

James Sargeant at the Bonington Theatre – Yamaha Tyros4 Keyboard Played as an Organ

Yesterday evening, James Sargeant (courtesy of Roger’s Music – Nottingham) entertained a large group of Yamaha keyboard enthusiasts at the Bonington Theatre in Arnold by playing the Tyros4 keyboard (the current Yamaha flagship model).

Over roughly 7 years, you can imagine the amount of demonstrations I have witnessed featuring Yamaha musical instruments and most certainly a fair few with the Yamaha Tyros4 keyboard as the main attraction. Yesterday evening however included a slightly different approach from the norm and rather than using the hundreds of backing styles to aid his performance, James Sargeant instead played the Tyros4 as if it was an electric organ.

WD TV Live Hub Review – Xtreme Tech Blog UK

My first review to appear on the new website Xtreme Tech Blog UK has just gone live, covering the WD TV Live Hub:

Many of the latest high definition televisions are starting to include built-in media players, giving consumers the chance to view various content including music, photos and of course video on a large display. You may be one of those people who don’t wish to upgrade your existing television to earn these new capabilities, but still wish to enjoy the same functionality and a little more without the investment a new HDTV would require.

Quite a few companies are now releasing external devices that allow you to transform your television into a media hub, rich with new online content. Western Digital have gone a step further than most and included an internal 1TB (1000GB) hard drive that can store your own created content, giving you the option to share your wonderful memories, pulsating beats and home movies with friends and family on a substantial and impressively sized display.

Meeting with Yamaha Corporation of Japan – Future Development of Keyboards

In July 2011, Glyn Madden (Editor of the Yamaha Club Magazine) welcomed a contingent of designers from Yamaha’s Japanese team to their home, which included Mr. Eiji Murata (Assistant Manager of EKB Product Development Department) and Ms. Kyoko Ohno. I was also invited to this fact finding meeting due to my years of involvement with Yamaha products including owning an independent enthusiast website and producing related tutorial and promotional DVDs. Discussions took place to share ideas and thoughts regarding Yamaha keyboards and digital pianos.

…James and I (Glyn Madden) are always happy to be invited to take part in these discussions because it gives us an opportunity to pass back to Yamaha feedback about its instruments that we’ve gathered from members – both of Yamaha Club and, until very recently, the YPKO forum.

Yamaha Personal Keyboard Owner – Fully Closed, Yet Not Quite!

Within the next 24 hours, YPKO will be closed permanently, however you will be pleased to know that I have salvaged all of the podcasts, many of the articles and reviews written by myself and transplanted them right here on my personal website.

Shortly, all Yamaha Personal Keyboard Owner related domain addresses will forward to a new section on my blog specifically for Yamaha related posts, which will include performances, demonstrations and my experiences with Yamaha keyboards and digital pianos. Domains include ypko.co.uk, yamahapkowner.co.uk and of course yamahapkowner.com.
