Space Ace Review on Blu-ray – Compatible with Sony PlayStation 3
It is not often I have the opportunity to review anything on Blu-ray movies (in fact this is my first!), however Space Ace available on this format is an interactive game remastered from an arcade classic:
In 1984, gaming was still a mass of lines, solid colours and music that resembled nothing more than a beep ba da beep. We are stepping back to when the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was still a twinkle in Nintendo’s eyes, but out of this bleak realism, Dragons Lair surprised the world with movie like quality cartoon animation that you could actually interact with.
Following on from this huge success, Space Ace made by the same company, released not long after their first attempt into this new area of interactive movie based gaming. Boasting the refinement you expect with any subsequent endeavours at something unique.

Can You Believe It? I Now Own the Sony PlayStation 3 Console
Yes I know, I can hardly believe it myself! I suppose with HD DVD going the way of the Dodo, many gamers like myself will be considering the same options. Should I get a possible Blu-ray add on drive for the Xbox 360 or should I just purchase a PlayStation 3 console and have the best of both next generation worlds.
Many will know that I have not been overly enthused with desires for the PlayStation 3. It has certainly had a rocky start to its life, but at least a sign of better times is well on the way. Price drops, a few must have gaming titles and Blu-ray playback have all factored in my decision to bite the bullet and give in to the dark side… Sony.

HD DVD Officially Dies – Blu-ray Wins the High Definition Movie Format War
After weeks of speculation, Toshiba has finally announced that it is now the time to pull the plug on the HD DVD format:
Toshiba Corporation today announced that it has undertaken a thorough review of its overall strategy for HD DVD and has decided it will no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders. This decision has been made following recent major changes in the market. Toshiba will continue, however, to provide full product support and after-sales service for all owners of Toshiba HD DVD products.

HD DVD Vs Blu-ray Format War – Media Running Around Like Headless Chickens
With the news that Warner and their subsidiaries are exclusively supporting Blu-ray, shock waves have been rushing through, no not quite the consumer, no not quite the retailers either, but instead the Internet media it would seem.
Certain articles appearing are panicking that Blu-ray isn’t quite the wonderful format that it was 5 minutes ago, just before the Warner announcement and that we should now prepare for a blue letter day.

Warner Moves to Blu-ray Exclusively – I’m Absolutely Gutted!
If there was going to be one item in the news that could cause my temperature to rise in 2008, it was this. Warner has announced that from June 2008, it will no longer release any HD DVD disks from its vast catalogue of titles and instead use Blu-ray for high definition movie releases.
As you know from an earlier post, I was someone rooting for HD DVD to win this format war, but this seems like a distant dream now with this latest revelation.
