In a secondhand set of dimensions. In an astral plane that was never meant to fly. Somewhere in darkest Ankh-Morpork, a sinister plot is about to unfold.
Discworld, also known as Discworld: The Trouble With Dragons released in 1995 featuring Rincewind the wizard (voiced by Eric Idle from Monty Python’s Flying Circus). Rincewind with his attractive red dress, sorry I mean wizard robes, is entrusted with the daunting task of removing a huge fire breathing dragon that has been terrorising the citizens of the colourful and completely bonkers city of Ankh-Morpork, which is based on the renowned comedic fantasy books by Terry Pratchett.

Even since our trusted floppy disks retired from active service after many years of dependence on the format, progression towards the USB memory stick has been rampant. With masses of storage, widespread adoption with various devices and of course zippy transfer speeds, the USB stick is the true successor. So how can they add to the wonders of a simple physical storage medium? By adding online storage it would appear. This actually makes a lot of sense when you consider the additional features this provides.

As much as I love my Apple iPhone 3GS, there is a lot of media resting in the devices storage that is simply yearning to be released to an audience. I have already reviewed a set of great earphones by Creative Labs, which are just wonderful for when you require a solitary music experience, but there is still the matter of sharing the entertainment within a room with your family and friends or for when you wish to dance around a bit to the melodic rhythms (don’t worry I won’t tell anyone if you don’t!).
The Creative ZiiSound D5 Bluetooth Wireless Speakers may have the answer, but not just for my iPhone, but other Bluetooth audio compatible hardware and anything else with a headphone socket. So that pretty much covers everything!

Recently Steve Jackson’s Sorcery – The Shamutanti Hills released on the Apple iTunes App Store. This contains music composed by myself on the Yamaha Tyros3 keyboard. This is my first official original music release for a game and hopefully many more will follow. The soundtrack is mainly comprised of looping tunes set to a pretty rigid requirement by the game’s designers, however with the ending music, I was allowed to let my imagination take over utilising a pan flute and strings, so this is of course my favourite track . Very movie like and hopefully you will agree quite catchy.
Based on the best-selling Fighting Fantasy gamebook system, The Shamutanti Hills is Book One in Steve Jackson’s Sorcery! series. Your epic quest will take you across the mysterious hills to the cityport of Kharé, but only if you outwit the creatures, traps and wizardry you encounter along the way. Play as either a warrior or as a wizard. If you choose wizardry, your survival will depend on your knowledge of the Sorcery! Spell Book’s darkest secrets. With many other unique features to discover, Sorcery! is a true challenge for novice and veteran adventurers alike.
You can listen to a few of the tracks I composed for the title by visiting my Last.fm artist profile page.

Full Throttle turned out to be quite an expensive acquisition as I had to upgrade my computer’s memory from 4MB to 8MB to enjoy the experience. By the time I had this necessity installed and purchased the actual game, I had spent around £100, so by this point I was just a little bit nervous of whether I was doing the right thing. Thankfully I discovered one of the best point and click adventures to be released by Lucas Arts.
Released on the PC CD-ROM in 1995, Full Throttle had a huge impact on me with its glorious video segments, riveting storyline and superb voice acting including Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker from Star Wars) and Maurice LaMarche, who also voiced Futurama’s Kif Kroker and The Brain in Pinky and The Brain.
