Jewel Purpose
Bejeweled is far more than just a pleasant puzzle game – actually there are a few modes available. Selecting ‘Classic’ challenges your gem swapping skills, advancing through the levels until no more moves can be achieved and the ‘Zen’ mode allows for a more peaceful laid back never-ending version – just for cheap thrills. Another available distracting is ‘Diamond Mine’, exploding gems to penetrate further down the abyss for ever higher scores and rewards.
In all modes, matching three gems with a single move destroys them. Match 4 and a special jewel appears that will detonate when matched again. If you achieve a set of 5 in a row, prepare yourself for a real visual treat
Facebook Friend or Foe
Competition among friends is rampant thanks to the leaderboards system within Bejeweled. Using your personal Facebook friends list, your best score is displayed among these other gaming buddies, which depending on your ability in destroying gems may be a good or a bad thing.
Bejeweled Blitz which has you furiously battling against the time and your friends capabilities is also available within Facebook itself, so your scores and progression remains constant between the app and the website version.
