Sonic Generations – Sonic the Hedgehog Celebrates its 20th Anniversary [VIDEO]

When the original Sonic the Hedgehog released 20 years ago on a gaming console named the SEGA Megadrive, it was a momentous time for gamers. It was an awakening and as such, I like many others would be catapulted into a world of speed, adrenaline and vivid colour.

I remember the Christmas where a very grateful young James opened his final gift to find the latest SEGA console and a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog. With no time to spare – I dashed to my television, hooked up the brand spanking new gaming system and inserted the game cartridge. It took all of 10 seconds to realise that I would forever be changed by the visual and aural stimulation I was receiving from the amazing gameplay antics appearing on-screen.

Sonic the Hedgehog really was a title to be reckoned with and certainly played a huge role in sparking my immense satisfaction and passion for gaming in general.

Now he is back again and although there have been many recent lacklustre titles in the series featuring our fast blue spiky haired friend, Sonic Generations certainly seems to have what it takes to catapult Sonic back into the limelight.

In the video below, I enjoy the demo of Sonic Generations on the Xbox 360 so you can judge for yourself:
