Speedtest.netAs much as I love broadband Internet, the constant fluctuations in speed can be quite annoying. One day you are loading websites with ease and the next you have time to make a cup of tea while you wait for the page to appear. With this in mind, it is always a good idea to benchmark your broadband Internet connection to see if there is a change in your speed or if you are just imagining things.

Speedtest.net is a very helpful and snazzy website that aids in your investigation. Testing both your upload and download speeds, you can figure out exactly what is happening. Giving you peace of mind with your Internet connection is surely worth a look! Maybe then you can look to other people to blame instead of your ISP (Internet Service Provider) as it could be the host of the website.

James Woodcock's Speed Test ResultsUsing flash to clearly demonstrate the process, it is extremely simple to use and presented beautifully. Select your nearest server, which is highlighted on the screen and watch as the analogue style dials move detailing the current speed the test is running at. One of the really smart features though is that you can view a little report and even have an image available to link to that allows you to post it on forums/websites, showing off how fast or how badly your connection is running.

So don’t despair and try this fantastic free online testing utility to finally see whether your connection is good or bad.
